Audiobook Stretch Goal Unlocked

Audiobook Stretch Goal Unlocked

File under: My Readers Are Wise and Powerful Cosmic Beings Sent to Save Science Fiction.

As of this writing, you have raised over $2000 for the Combat Frame XSeed Indiegogo campaign–more than twice our initial goal. Within the first week!

Combat Frame XSeed 206%

To recap, here are the goals that have now been greenlighted for production:

  1. The Combat Frame XSeed novel.
  2. The second book in the series, Combat Frame XSeed: Coalition Year 40
  3. A set of four CF trading cards
In addition, a new stretch goal has been unlocked. Audio is the fastest growing segment of the publishing market right now. Readers have been requesting audio versions of my books for years. Now, I’m delighted to announce that the Combat Frame XSeed audiobook, narrated by voice actor Jim Fear, will be guaranteed when we reach the $5000 mark!

This goal is eminently achievable within our deadline, but we can’t reach it without your support. Help get XSeed into audio. Back the campaign today!

P.S. I’d like your input deciding which four combat frames to feature on our trading cards. The CF art will appear on the front with its Jane’s style sepcs on the back for easy reference. Which combat frames would you like to see featured on trading cards? Everybody list your top four in the comments.

My votes are for the Zwei, the Veil, Dead Drop, and the Type One.

    • D.J. Schreffler

      Zwei or Zwei Custom?

    • Brian Niemeier

      What D.J. said.

    • Nathan

      Let's go with the Custom.

    • Brian Niemeier

      Got it. Thanks!

    Well…what's iconic?

Dead Drop has to go in.

CCF-09V is just awesome as is the Zwei Dolph Custom.

But CF-01-1 is where it all began and the -05 and -05 seem to feature prominently.

I'd go with Rule of Cool. I would find whatever mechs feature most prominently in the book should be chosen. From that standpoint, Dead Drop is a catalyst, and really should be in there.

So. Dead Drop, Zwei Dolph Custom, Type 1, and whichever is more prominent between the -05 and -06.

    • Brian Niemeier

I'll have to a ctrl+F in the MS to find out whether the Grenzie or the Grento is more prominent. It's pretty close. Thanks for voting!

How much to make him sing the theme song?

    • Brian Niemeier

Jim did say the fee he quoted me includes music.

Type One, Grenzmark II, Dead Drop, and Zwei Dolph are my votes for CF cards.

    • Brian Niemeier

      Noted!

I missed the vote, but thats cool. Happy to see all the votes for Dead Drop 😀

    • Brian Niemeier

Cool! Btw, DD finished a close second to the most popular choice, the Type One. The margin was a single vote.

    • WhiteZero

      Awwwww yeah!

    • Brian Niemeier

If we count your vote, they're tied 🙂
