This video comes to us from a reader who, like many, is coming to realize that Disney and Marvel aren’t making movies. They’re churning out Christianity-subverting propaganda.
Admittedly, the video starts off pretty cringe. But get past the vacation Bible school delivery and the Virgin-Mary-in-the-toast apophenia, and you’ll see there is indeed fire under the smoke. With more than a whiff of brimstone.
Don’t give money to people who hate you.
Support creators who want to entertain you.
Pretty interesting, I agree with your description though. Plus it was marred by their poor understanding of Revelation, which sounded dispensational.
What gets me though is how it's always protestants who do this stuff, there's one EO guy (Jonathan Pageau) but no Catholics.
Yeah. The host talks about Jesus' blood *covering* our sins; then a few minutes later says Jesus came to *destroy* sin. Pick one.
John C. Wright, Dean Esmay, and Jon Del Arroz talk about the corruption of pop culture on YouTube.
I'm familiar with all but I've never seen any of them do an analysis of a particular book/tv show/film and break it down.
Lost in my own little world I didn't realize that you do this… So I retract what I said.
Sorry to say, but I can't trust John C. Wright anymore. Had a recent spat over Jewish anti-Christic behavior on his blog, which continued 1-on-1 via email, and without revealing anything I'll just say, his willful blindness on the JQ marks him as not to be trusted.
I don't think he's a disinfo shill or anything though. He showed humility enough in our correspondence to prove to me he's sincere in his faith.

So pop culture is missionary territory?
Cool!

What is the proper plural of mech?
Mechs? Mecha? Something else?
I'd say "mecha" is the abstract or generic type, where a mech is an instance, and mechs are multiple instances. So you might be an engineer who specializes in mecha — meaning you build and repair mechs.
Mecha
Hmm….I like Baron's classification a lot. Makes perfect sense to me.
OTOH, as far as the CFXS setting is concerned, we have a definitive answer.
Woo boy, good analysis once you get past the soy latte leader’s voice and overuse of the word “literally”…and the bad Protestant exogesis. Some of his examples show how pro AntiChrist they are if you have a Catholic understanding. Still, people need to see this to have their eyes opened.
Should clarify, Hollywood’s* pro-Satan/pro-Antichrist stance is even more clear if you see those examples in the video from a Catholic perspective.
It's easy, and a bit trite, to dunk on these people for being overly earnest and a little goofy, but I give them TONS of credit for going out there, engaging, and actually fighting the culture war. Their hearts are in the right place.
I love my own Orthodox Church fiercely, but as I discussed with my priest a few weeks ago, we are HORRIBLE at going out and engaging with the world.
Same goes for Catholics. Props to Prots for rolling up their sleeves and digging in.
Agreed. We need more of this.
Third. Protestants Walter Veith and Chuck Missler did more to convince me of Christ's divinity than any modern Catholic.
I give them props for pulling one of these: Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
They also identified a running theme in the film franchise that completely escaped my notice. Intriguing.
I was most disappointed with their attempt to find a smoking gun among the expressed intentions of the directors, etc.
But then again, I suppose that most people commenting on this will be unable to remark on the disproportionate number of people of a particular non-Christian faith being active in both Hollywood and comics as having any impact on how Christian the culture is that is produced. Baffling!
It's not like all of Disney's directors get together and coordinate the blasphemy in their films. The artist is revealed in the art, and these artists have been stewing in poz all their lives.
