A while back, the Audacious Epigone ran the numbers on the issue of American secession. Here’s what emerged.

AE’s comment:
There is no longer any racial, religious, moral, cultural, political, linguistic, or ethnic unity in the US as it is currently defined. The last remaining bond holding the thing together, beyond inertia, is economic expediency. It’s why talk of dissolution will begin in interest once the impending economic downturn hits. The Federal Reserve, with rates already under three percent, will be unable to stave it off.
It is as a nationalist that I support political dissolution. A nation requires a shared sense of the aforementioned characteristics. As currently constituted, the United States shares none of these things. It is not a nation. It is an empire comprised of several disparate nations inside of it. The empire must fall for those nations to flourish.
Worse even if the left and foreigners /non complaints are expelled partition will be complicated by very different strains of Conservatism. I’m not interested nor will I tolerate a Neo Liberal economy if I have just fought to be rid of a liberal tyranny. Its just substituting State for Corporation
I also don’t want would be theocrats , Deus Volt types deciding on laws I live under either.
This means either a lot of negotiation or a lot of strife
Its is still a better outcome than the Commies but its not easy, more of a last ditch effort to prevent hundreds of millions dead.

"His wish to have his cake and eat it too, i.e. casting off Neo-Liberalism while rejecting Christendom, is pure fantasy."
I wonder if that's why Napoleon Bonaparte's "monarchism" was heretical and more of a fascist democracy that used the images of monarchism to his advantage.
It's not that much different from Biden.
Congrats on the campaign!
Blackpilled just put out a video on this very topic. How unity can only come when we put aside relatively petty differences to deal with a graver issue. He uses an example of how the Japanese government would force suspected of Christians of blasphemy followed by torture or death. He went over how spergs deliberately launched into their typical invective to sabotage his point.
Right on cue the comments to the video also instantly fell into libertarian "Christer" rhetoric, which leads me to believe godlessness really is a mental disorder.
Razorfist has said he doesn't understand where this blackpilled behavior comes, but I think it's obvious when you're dealing with society collapsing and a large faction of your side is more interested in buying a prostitute than admitting that the time for hedonism is over. Sure your grandkid won't be able to live in a safe neighborhood, but at least you still get to smoke weed like you're still a loser in your parent's basement. Well worth preserving.
In other news, I should have named my character with electricity abilities in Someone is Aiming for You & Other Adventures Deus Volt. Oh well, live and learn.

@JD: Thank you. Stack sometimes errs on the side of excessive scrupulosity, but he's our best counter-propagandist.
@Hans: Razorfist is a witty guy. Here's hoping he outgrows his boutique agnosticism and takes his leave of Con Inc.
So, does Mr. Atkins really believe that the rest of the country will turn into a liberal utopia? It reads as someone who seriously wants to believe his enemies (us) are just a step away from embracing his views and beliefs across the U.S. and we'll all live happily together.
You'd think someone like him would be happy to be rid of people like us as we form our own nation(s). My guess is he wants cattle to be rustled for his masters. The more the merrier in his world. I'm also guessing deep down he doesn't buy into his own trite, and is lying to himself about what he thinks is going to happen. The United States hasn't been "united" in well over a decade and splintering into smaller nations will be the only way to stop massive bloodshed.
As for David, he is to be pitied. Also, prayed for.
Dave is speaking from a place of intense, paralyzing fear. He's attempting to pray his vision into reality via Twitter, but his god doesn't play that.
Yes, someone to be pitied. Also, someone to be left to his own devices and shunned, as the vision he prays for is one of slavery and domination over his fellow man.
He wants to die, but he wants us to go first.
If power abhors a vacuum, then one of the nations that emerges from the split is bound to have DE FACTO control of its neighbors if not DE JURE. Imperialism finds a way.

Reading the first book, which says that civilization has collapsed, I get the sense the world is balkanized, but not that it is a post-aocalyptic Mad Max wasteland. Reminds me a bit of Colombia during the late 90's early 00's with a thoroughly corrupt government and rival, violent factions, and yet while 3rd-world in most places, still had high-tech installations like oil refineries mostly for the benefit of foreign powers.
About right?
Yeah, it didn't get Mad Max bad–at least not everywhere. What happened was the tech oligarchs sensed where the wind was blowing and fled Earth for outer space, taking most of our gold reserves and rare earth metal supplies with them.
Now look at SpaceX, which partly inspired the XSeed title.
Also note Seattle's Autonomous Zone, which is being run by a warlord named Raz. That's the story across much of CY-era Earth: loose collections of city-states under Big Man rule.
As a Texan, I love the idea of my home state being freed from the federal tyranny. But as a nascent anti-liberalist, I can't imagine any of the newly independent nations selecting any form of governance other than more liberalism. It seems that while liberalism under a more unified nationality is certainly better than the present circumstance, won't the whole hedonistic death spiral just set in for the individual nations as the people trade their faith for hedonic pleasure? It seems inevitable.
A fatal mistake most people on our side make is thinking that if we just find the right political solution, the Death Cult will be swept away, and America will go right back to the high culture of the 50s or the 80s.
That's just not in the cards. The Death Cult is dominant because Cultists spent a century subverting every institution, always by undermining and sidelining Christianity. We're in a similar position to the Roman Empire under Arianism, when about 90% of the leadership and untold numbers of the people were heretics.
Having a just and sane society again means first defeating this heresy–of which Liberalism is the political arm. It can be done, but it won't happen overnight.
As a fellow Texan, I'm torn on this issue. Neither remaining under the thumb of Mordor-on-the-Potomac nor declaring war on other states to enforce a separation strikes me as a good idea. Some of the most important military installations in the South are here in Texas. The Feds simply won't let us go without a fight. A fight at the state lines that would tear the Texoma and Arklatex regions apart. Applying thumbnail Just War theory, it's a certainty that the border areas will turn nasty, just as they did before, during, and after the Late Unpleasantness, while success seems very far from certain, so a war of secession doesn't seem like it could possibly be a Just War. Taking into further account that not even deepest of deep red or deep blue precincts are guaranteed to be ideological enclaves, and it seems likely that the entire state would be a border zone for the purposes of blood feuds and bushwhacking. We couldn't even solve the border fighting problem by taking the Okies, the Arkies, and Louisiana with us, assuming for a moment they wouldn't rather be independent, too, because they're no more culturally or ideologically cohesive than we are.
I have thought of the possibility of a secession war. Coronachan and the instant 180 degree turnaround on policy for liberals to voice their full throated support to the riots showed me that there is no limit to the caprice some of our worse overlords have for us. But the other part of me sees that and thinks that part of the reason for the stand down orders was a total lack of will to fight what appeared to be a determined group of rabblerousers. I can't help but wonder if the feds would really be willing to fight and die to keep the Union together a la the Civil War. Certainly they would have no problem sending others to fight and die for that, but there seems to be such an antipathy these days for the Republic, that I almost think secession of any state wouldn't stir most to even switch off Netflix for a bit to read about it.
I've been wrong about so much though. I never expected the response to the riots amidst coronachan to show such baldfaced cynicism on the part of the blue governors. They don't even try to hide their hatred of normal people, or the fact that they don't care that their policies are blatantly and obviously for harassing normal people and have nothing to do with the pretenses they give. Granted, those facts have been apparent for a long time, but they used to go to great pains to at least try to look like they actually cared about normal people.

Apologies for the double post.
Everything's bigger in Texas:)
I worry the occupants of the liberal breakaways will respect our new borders about as much as they respected the old ones.
That's why an amicable divorce is preferable but not likely.

Also looks like the dissident right is agitating for session…but then you have the issue Travis mentioned, as maybe only Faith Goldy in that group might be amiable to a non-liberal government solution.
