      ArtAnon,

Are issues 1-2 still available? I visited lulu.com, but I didn’t seem them.

Will you offer an omnibus edition of all the Volt issues to date?
I’d be interested in buying a consolidated collection.
      Thanks!

    Xavier –

Yes, both Issues 1 and 2 are still available. Lulu’s search engine is iffy at times.

I’m not sure if Peter is planning for an omnibus. We’re probably over manga phone book size by now, but I’ll let you know if there is one in the works.

Note: 9Volt Halloween Special coming next month.

Had to renounce such things post-conversion. This is greatly offensive to purity, so much so I don’t even need to defend it, and you risk complicity in others’ sin by promoting it.

Pre-conversion, I loved such lurid stuff like Frank Frazetta. Now, it’s obviously repugnant to Our Lord and Our Lady, who see through my eyes what I see. Not to mention it’s shamelessly placing myself in near occasion of sin.

For motivation to make the difficult decision to join me and risk being called names, splash your soul with this bucket of ice water:

    • I’m going to reply to this nonsense with as much charity I can muster.

If you look at a Frank Frazetta art and find yourself getting aroused, then it is a you problem. This is not a signal that Frank Frazetta must be banned, is sinful, and everyone else who looks at it also gather uncontrollable urges. The fact that you are already “risking” being called names and confuse it with some sort of bravery is telling that you still have the modernist mindset that drove generations from the Church.

What you are doing is making the same mistake that lead to the death cult seizing control to begin with. Turning Christianity into a sanitized cardboard cutout guarded by Safe corporations and a “Christian” industry diluted art and entertainment to the point that modern Christians retch at the sight of blood.

A Christian that finds blood uncouth and needing censorship is proof that they have completely lost their way. And no, I am not talking about intense gore–I have seen Christians put warnings on children shows for nosebleeds. This artificial bubble modern Christians are trying to build is objectively harmful, has been a disaster, is ahistorical, and is a sign of idolatry for an anti-human utopia.

TL;DR: if it’s not pornography and you see it as such then it is you who need reflection and discernment. Not the rest of the world.

Who do you think would prefer the above picture of the scantily-clad buxom girl, the Virgin Mary Most Pure, or satan? If nothing else, please just answer that.

Re: your response, would you say the same to Our Lady of Good Success, who around the 16th century said:

“In [the 20th century] the atmosphere will be saturated with the spirit of impurity which, like a filthy sea, will engulf the streets and public places with incredible license.… Innocence will scarcely be found in children, or modesty in women. (…) The children’s hearts will be dainty morsels to regale the devil. (…) There shall be scarcely any virgin souls in the world. (…) Without virginity, fire from heaven will be needed to purify these lands.”

Would you tell the Immaculate Queen of Heaven she’s being a Modernist in need of reflection or discernment? Or do you think this image promotes modesty in women?

Or Christ Our Lord, who in 1971 dictated the Penitential Rosary to Mother Mariana Concepcion Zuniga Lopez with the message, “Let Christian women show themselves as such with their modesty, imitating My most holy Mother, Who is their model.”

Does such imagery accord with Our Lord’s model of modesty?

Is it possible you lack proper sensitivity to offenses against the 6th and 9th commandments? Or that you may have an undue attachment to “fun” and pulpy material that comes at the expense of an authentic saint-grade renunciation of self and love for God (which is what He made you made for)?

What are your thoughts on Sedevacantism, Dennis?

          • Dennis

I flirted with Sedevacantism a couple years ago, even denouncing things like the St. Faustina Divine Mercy devotion when I was the Lecturer of our Knights of Columbus council, but God revealed to me very clearly I was wrong on both counts, leaving absolutely no room for doubt (I can go into detail if you’re interested).

At this point, however, I don’t know if Francis or Benedict is the true Pope. I mean, can a manifest non-Catholic be the head of the Catholic Church?!
