But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
As you fast and pray today, call to mind the manifold outrageous insults hurled at Our Lord Jesus Christ every second of every day by ungrateful mankind.
And consider that, even knowing our ingratitude, He still chose to die for us.
For the sake of Your sorrowful Passion, O Lord, have mercy on us!
I will be singing this (well, attempting anyway) at the cathedral today: https://youtu.be/H3v9unphfi0
Pray for us!
Amen
Something shook me to my core after I venerated the cross today. It’s only the second time that I’ve done so, but that’s never happened before.
Can you describe what you experienced?
