Ƶ XSeed Campaign Report

Ƶ XSeed Close

Just a quick after-action report on the Combat Frame Ƶ XSeed crowdfunding campaign, which just wrapped up on Indiegogo.

The final tally of funds raised came to exactly $8,000. That total earned Ƶ XSeed third place in a photo finish against the second-place XSeed S. That’s the campaign most comparable to this one, since the XSeed SS crowdfunder ran for six weeks instead of four.

That’s not to say there weren’t some key differences. For Ƶ XSeed, I doubled the initial goal I’d set every other time. The stretch goals also came at $2000 instead of $1000 intervals. Even so, our backers hit every stretch goal.

This time we had also the highest average contribution per backer yet. That indicates Ƶ XSeed would have performed even better had its campaign not run up against some scheduling conflicts beyond my control.

That’s good news since, to be honest, I expected this campaign to underperform somewhat. I’d long suspected that the government stimulus checks sent out around the times of the S and SS campaigns had inflated contributions artificially. Raising about the same as XSeed S, despite the lack of Trump or Biden bucks and the presence of record inflation, tells me that the two previous campaigns weren’t flukes. That’s good to know.

Now we enter fulfillment mode. Several perks are already in production, and many have been fulfilled, at least in part. I’d like to remind all of our esteemed patrons to keep watching their inboxes, and to extend them my sincere thanks for supporting newpub fiction.

You are the best proof that neopatronage is here and gaining steam.

And if you missed the campaign and have more of a horror-adventure interest, read my cosmological space pirate novel Nethereal.

This time was a bit of catch up for me. I haven’t backed since the very first XSeed campaign, and now that life is (somewhat) less crazy in my household I wanted to see what I have been missing since then.

Now that you’ve concluded XSeed, all that’s left is to sell the exclusive copyrights to Disney. Sure, they might decanonize S, SS, and Z and replace them with a soyboy spin-off series, but you’ll be loaded!

    • Hearing that I’ve pleased my readers is even sweeter than a monetary reward. Thanks for your continued support!
