For the past year, right-wing social media has been rife with pseudo-messianism surrounding Donald Trump’s expected 2024 presidential bid. His supporters’ fervor has devolved to infighting with backers of Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
What everybody missed among the political theater is that national elections no longer matter. They haven’t for a while, but under the “Once is a fluke, twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action” rule, we now have proof that presidential politics are a sham.
But being trapped in nostalgia for more prosperous times, Trump’s supporters clung to their self-made prophecy that he would return in glory and flip the calendar back to 1988.
Well, last night Trump gave his highly anticipated announcement speech, and a rehash of 1988 is just what he gave his fans.
Watch the speech here:
I won’t hold your hand because it’s been held enough.
That speech was a debacle.
Compare it to Trump coming down the escalator in 2015.
Last night, we saw nothing of the brash, vigorous maverick rolling into town to clean up Washington. We saw a tired, old politician rattling off stale GOP boilerplate.
Trump sounds like he’s forgotten – or never understood – that his supporters want him to take them back to the 80s, but they want him to do it in a fresh, spontaneous way.
Giving a performance indistinguishable from a George H.W. Bush stump speech isn’t what MAGApedes wanted. They want 2015 4 Chan in 1988 America.
But Trump’s speech did please at least one person …
DeSantis derangement syndrome sufferers had only one cogent argument for hating him: The fact that he’s attracted establishment support.
Sad to say, there’s just no way to reconcile swamp creature supreme Graham’s ringing endorsement with Trump as anti-establishment candidate. Any attempt to square that circle at this point is a cope.
It’s not happening, MAGA Millennials, and ZoomerCons. Internet Daddy’s not coming back.
You’ve had one Savior all along. He’s using this tribulation to invite you to seek Him and repent.
The Left only hated Trump because they sensed that Conservatives made him a stand-in for Christ.
At the end of the day, the one thing the Death Cult is enraged and terrified by the thought of you doing is turning back to Jesus Christ.
Don’t keep Him waiting.
I wrote a military thriller series about a world where many people returned to Christ. That world also has giant robot fights.
He’s now going down the road of “Make America Great And Glorious Again.”
Needs to change his slogan to MAGAGA.
I should run against him with “goonie-googoo”.
My timeline on Twitter is being spammed with people saying how their candidate is going to change the world and it’s going to be different this time. Once he has the reins, everyone will quiver with fear and the good times will return! And it’s not just people supporting Trump doing it.
It doesn’t matter who the candidate it, guys. The result is going to be the same until you forget about rolling the clock back to the 20th century. I even saw people wondering where their 2008 Democratic party was and why it had been replaced with this one. Soon we are legitimately going to be nostalgic for the War On Terror era, and I’m not even talking about Millennials here but people in 2016 saying how they never want to go back to that. It is as if everyone has forgotten the people in charge hate you and have for a long time now. No candidate being elected is going to change that reality.
Stop spending your time hyping up your media messiah and start praying to the real one. You’ll be much better off.
I have it on good authority that gainsaying [Secular Messiah] means you are a black-pilling crybaby whose negative vibes interfere with the collective’s psychic distress call to Alpha Centauri. Better get your head right so the mothership comes to rescue us from Armageddon on Election Night!
Gray Pill: It’s an alien invasion. They can ‘fire’ at us from over the horizon of our awareness, as we can with bugs in our garden. There attacks seem to us like strings of adverse coincidences. Only by appealing to a Power greater than they, that loves us and has tried to tell us this so often – our Creator – can we defeat them.

This has been one of the best demonstrations of the White pill-black pill rollercoaster effect. Last Monday the conservative sphere was full of talk of the red wave, taking back both houses of congress, impeaching Joe Biden, etc. Then on Wednesday there was despair and everyone was looking for someone to blame for such a terrible event. But this was tempered with a lot of talk of “but we’ll win a lot of the contested races,” especially in terms of Kari Lake. And then that was of course followed by despair when the blatant fraud won out. That was only last weekend, but we’re already back into triumphalism mode with Trump back to save everything. People have been alternating between white pill and black pill on a daily basis.
The total tractability of 80% of the populace is the real red pill.
American politics is fake and gay. I mean both terms literally.
That said, if Republicans actually want to win they just need to rig the game in states/counties they control.
Cheating: the American way!
[Insert astronaut with gun meme]: Always has been.
The only bright side to Trumpism (besides realizing that Christ is our only Savior, not any “elected” official) is seeing Death Cultists reel and seethe at the prospect of Orange Man back in office. Imagine how TDS will ruin Hollywood with more garbage shows and movies. Resulting in more support for Newpub and good Christian independent work.
That’s an argument in favor of Trump bowing out. The Death Cult needs a bogeyman to justify their existence. That is why they hold perpetual morality plays asking for audience members to play SatanHitler. All Trump is doing now is putting on the devil horns.
Good point. I just think any Republican candidate will eventually don the horns for the Death Cult.
Which should tell you everything you need to know about they system.
Mitch McConnell is senate leader again. [Cue synthesizer] Meet the new boss…
