Whenever I hear people talking about Ready Player One, I refer them to Ctrl-Alt-REVOLT!.

Alas, there isn't any other Niemeierian fiction out there yet for me to say to others, "If you liked this, you might like Soul Cycle." Or, "If you would have like this, but the execution sucked, try Soul Cycle, because it does it better."

"Whenever I hear people talking about Ready Player One, I refer them to Ctrl-Alt-REVOLT!."

That is the go-to response. I've also heard Nick's Soda Pop Soldier compared more directly and favorably to RP1, though I haven't read it yet.

As for books by me that offer an alternative to moribund postmodern fiction, the next phase of Combat Frame XSeed begins today. #AGundamForUs

Soda Pop Soldier is a very good read. I haven't read Ready Player One yet. I suppose I ought to at some point.

Also, not having read/watched the anime series (Like Lupin III for Marshal Malachi) in no way detracts from the enjoyment of Soul Cycle.

But today's reading is Strange Matter. Have to do that before RPO.

I do hope you enjoy Strange Matter. Let me know what you think of the new story.

The stoic pagan–or is he a samurai?–seeking immortality in glorious death is very intriguing. And the resolution in the epilogue of that story is incredibly satisfying.

Glad you liked Anacyclosis. Wait till you get to Good Friday.

I read all of them. It had good twists I did not see coming, but which were inevitable in retrospect. And the ending was just, which I greatly appreciate.

Robber Council was also enjoyable. Strange Matter I had read before–must have been in the Hugo/Campbell packet. And the vampire one I'd seen on your site.

Enjoyed all of them, except Elegy for the Locust, and that was because I saw the entire story from the very beginning.

Hey, I'll take 7/8. Glad you got enjoyment out of it.

Thanks for the mini-review, especially since it looks like Amazon is dragging their feet with your full review.

They finally released it and it is now up.
