An End to Medical Tyranny?

Johnson Ends Covid

Earlier this week, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a drastic rollback of Covid restrictions in the UK.

Watch his full announcement:

Some are hailing the PM’s statement as the end of medical tyranny. Starting next Thursday, the British government will no longer mandate vaccine passports, face masks in public and in schools, or working from home. Instead, the government will continue to encourage British subjects to keep performing those rituals on their own.

Those who are declaring the pandemic dead are acting prematurely. Johnson’s own statement frames the UK’s policy change not as lifting all Covid restrictions, but dialing them back from Plan B to Plan A. They’re backtracking a step, but there’s nothing to prevent them from reinstating Plan B.

Another loophole many have missed is that, while the government will no longer enforce Covid mandates, they won’t prevent businesses from imposing their own. Offices, theaters, and pubs can still require people to present proof of vaccination and wear muzzles to enter. It’s a good bet that many will.

Of course, the big question on everyone’s mind is “Why now?” After all, we were just told to spend the winter cowering in terror of the Nth Covid variant. What’s changed?

The answer is that nothing has changed. Our rulers are still fanatical death cultists who hate us. What they’re doing is running a play we’ve seen them use before: easing restrictions only as a precursor to mandating harsher ones.

People might object that oligarch mouthpieces like Johnson can’t pull a 180 after equating Covid to the flu and saying it’s time we learned to live with it. Those people forget how many times the so-called experts have flipflopped on masks and vaccine effectiveness.

If the ongoing crisis has proved anything, it’s that legacy media can make the cultists do anything. Your Boomer wine aunt will go right back to triple masking at home the second the BBC or CNN issue a new bull.

That’s how psychological warfare works. Applying constant pressure risks making the targets break in unpredictable ways. They trick is to release some – but not all – of the pressure every once in a while to keep people acclimated. That’s the cycle we’ve seen for two years, it’s been successful beyond our rulers’ dreams, and they have zero incentive to stop it now.

The upshot is that our elites aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer. It’s looking pretty clear now that they had no long-term plan for the monster they created. On the contrary, they did what they always do and seized on a crisis for political advantage. It helped them get Trump out of the picture. Then the much-hyped vaccine rollout was supposed to mollify all the panicked cat moms. But the Coof Cult has refused to be appeased, no matter what the ruling class tries.

Our elites thought it would be a good idea to feed a tiger a sheet of LSD and take her for a ride. Now they’ve found they can’t let go, so the only thing for it is to tighten their grip.

Prepare for chaos.

They’ve said “we’re in a particularly dangerous time because nearly all new cases are from Omicron, which the vaccines provide practically no protection for. That’s why it is important that you get vaccinated, and get a booster shot if you are already vaccinated.” Yet only a very small population woke up from this absurdity. Most lined up for another shot.

The most recent flip-flop is on N95 masks. For over a year they said again and again that cloth masks are just as good for every day purposes, and that you should actually avoid N95 masks because you might cause shortages for the medical professionals who really need them. Now they are really pushing the narrative that anything but a N95 mask is crap that barely does anything at all. Yet practically no one will react to this by saying “they were lying this whole time!” A large part of the population will just update their fact banks to include this new piece of information without registering the contradiction, and the ones who don’t knew that they were lying long before this.

University of Waterloo confirmed last year what industrial hygienists knew for decades regarding masks. Even DoD refused the use of N-95 and vented masks over cloth, even though N/R-95 is 4X to 6X more effective. So now N/R-95 is — ok? ‘Cause, reasons. Dark comedy indeed.

      • Even N-95s are next to useless unless they’re custom-fitted to the user. An irregularity as simple as having a five o’clock shadow can compromise their protection.

Masks are to Leftoids what MAGA hats are to the Right.

Yep. Used to do that task. Fit is important, and you better not wear them day-in-day-out, or bacterial pneumonia is a possible event. Kinda like the 1918 pandemic.

I just had a superior send out an e-mail saying that you should always wear an N95 mask, and if you get get many you should just wear the same one with the only problem being that “maybe you won’t be able to bear your bad breath.”

I contacted people pointing out that there are risks to long term mask usage from build up of bacteria. I cited everything from the CDC and phrased it as “the superior’s e-mail may be misleading” but I’m fully aware that this may not be enough to deflect from the COVID hysteria. Oh well, if it comes to that there’s certainly worse things to get fired over than trying to protect people from getting pneumonia.

Those risks are the same with any mask. Wearing disposable cloth and surgical masks repeatedly are just playing roulette with your respiratory system. And, if the masks have infectious material in/on them, then they are medical waste by definition in every State I know.

Look up what control and disposal of medical waste entails.

  2. Yes. Pumping the brakes – just like animal trainers, you don’t always reward good behavior so that the animal becomes more eager to do what you want.

My guess is that over the course of this year, they will phase out Covid and phase in maybe climate change – some excuse to restrict rights and boss people around. Once they got a taste for that, they’re not willingly letting it go. The tactic might change, but the behavior will not.

    • They’ve already telegraphed that they’re shopping around for a new invisible bogeyman.

Or war, which will trigger an economic crisis

        • There’s a school of thought that says the constant string of crises over the past decade, including Covid and the saber-rattling against Syra/Iran/China/Russia is a deflection from the imminent economic collapse.

No offence Brian, but I think you might be reading a little too much into this one. From here on the ground in the British isles, the only thing anyone’s talking about is how Boris is under immense amounts of pressure from all sides because of scandals caused by openly flouting his own COVID rules, which is why he’s abolishing them now as a desperate PR move. I don’t know precisely accurate this is, given that it’s being reported in the legacy media too, but they’re not the only ones doing so.

If Brian turns out to be right, you should send him a pack of hobnobs.

    • That may explain why Johnson is countersignaling the WHO, which just said the end of the pandemic isn’t even in sight yet.
