The Baker of Bakersfield

Cathy Miller Baker

Even in the heart of Clown World, it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate victories, however, small, when they come.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A California judge has ruled in favor of a bakery owner who refused to make wedding cakes for a same-sex couple because it violated her Christian beliefs.

The state Department of Fair Housing and Employment had sued Tastries Bakery in Bakersfield, arguing owner Cathy Miller intentionally discriminated against the couple in violation of California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.

Miller’s attorneys argued her right to free speech and free expression of religion trumped the argument that she violated the anti-discrimination law. Kern County Superior Court Judge Eric Bradshaw ruled Friday that Miller acted lawfully while upholding her beliefs about what the Bible teaches regarding marriage.

The decision was welcomed as a First Amendment victory by Miller and her pro-bono attorneys with the conservative Thomas More Society.

First, thank God for victory, which is miraculous not only because it happened in California, but in light of the regime’s recent crackdown on Christians.

Second, the absurd spectacle of the executive and the judiciary having diametric opposite takes on law as basic as the First Amendment shows how broken liberal democracy is. Letting 51% of voters determine moral truth for everyone might work in a homogenous, high-trust society. Here in Weimerica, it’s causing chaos.

America is a Christian nation. Christianity has always taught that homosexual acts are evil. So American Christians should just be able to say, “I refuse to cooperate with grave intrinsic evil,” and that’s that.

Instead, Christians let themselves be gaslighted into leaving their faith, which should form the basis of all actions in all areas of their lives, out of the public square.

The canard invoked by the Death Cult to do the gaslighting has something to do with everybody compromising to avoid bloodshed. Yet look around. Christians gave the Cult what they said they wanted, and it turned out that it’s the Cultists who refuse to ever compromise on anything.

In fact, shedding blood is one item the Death Cult will never compromise on – not only due to their love of street rioting, but because child sacrifice is their holiest sacrament.

This baker had better dig in for the long haul. She’d better have a GiveSendGo campaign or something. Because you can be sure the Cultists will never leave her alone. Just look at that other baker in Colorado.

Her pro bono counsel did win, and the Thomas More Society did excellent work as usual. But just wait. The Cultists will regroup and redouble their attacks.

When it’s said that “We can’t live in a civilization with these people,” that’s not a prediction of some dark future when sectarian conflicts tear society apart. It’s an observation that the hysterical Death Cult our leaders belong to has already destroyed much of Western civilization.

Liberalism – and that includes Classical Liberalism – is a spectacular failure. Survival now depends on finding a new means of social organization that works for the 21st century world.

The sad thing is that the government doesn’t even have to directly get involved to persecute Christians. They can allow the media to mock and slander Christians to stir up resentment amongst the general normie public which will destroy their business. Or they can simply turn a blind eye when paramilitary organizations like ANTIFA or BLM burn down their business and injure/kill the owner (in which it might make the news for a hot second and then disappear behind Kanye/Andrew Tate outrage.)

    • That is where the media’s power really lies: in what they *don’t* report on.

  2. “But just wait. The Cultists will regroup and redouble their attacks.”

Exactly. When it comes to civilization, the cultists can afford to lose a thousand times, they only need to win once.
