Geek Gab Is Back

Geek Gab's Back

If you’re a loyal reader, you’re aware of the special relationship between this blog and the Geek Gab live stream. The mastermind behind the mic, Daddy Warpig, was gracious enough to give me a co-hosting spot back when I was first breaking onto the scene. It gave me the chance to interact with multiple newpub and gaming luminaries, not the least of which being DW himself.

Those of you who are still active on Twitter will also be aware that DW got a metastatic pancreatic cancer diagnosis back in October. That’s not the kind of scare anybody wants to get, not even during the spooky season. Those health issues forced the show into hiatus for a while, but as of this past Saturday, Geek Gab is back. And DW returned to the show with trusty co-host Dorrinal to share some wonderful news.

For the full scoop, watch the episode here:

As Dorrinal pointed out, it’s unlikely that having everyone on Twitter praying for DW’s healing can be dismissed as a coincidence. Some people scoff at the efficacy of prayer because they’ve been conditioned by Hollywood to expect a heavenly trumpet and light show. But while the essential fruit of prayer is spiritual, sometimes, miracles do happen.

Praise be to Our Lord Jesus Christ for the grace of healing.

And congratulations to Daddy Warpig.

It’s time to celebrate, so enjoy some RPG-inspired fun with the first book of mine that Geek Gab helped promote!

Will you return to streaming at some point in the future again? Always good conversations take place when you do.

    • Thanks for the vote of confidence. Work has monopolized my time lately. But we’ll see after I get some projects in the can.

    Brian,

I was moved by Daddy warpig’s gratitude for the prayers. He did mention how he himself didn’t think it was coincidental the offered prayers helped him with his recovery and the wonderful news.

It was really great to listen to Geek gab again and wish Daddywarpig and Dorrinal many more years of Geek gab

Great to hear about Daddy Warping and agreed about the power of prayer (I’ve heard far too much “why no severed limbs healed?!” atheist whining in my day). On an aside, do you have an opinion (other than it being obviously bad) about WOTC’s crackdown on the fans?

    • D&D attained perfection with 3rd Edition. I still have my complete set of core books, so Wizards can engage in whatever witchery they want. It’s nothing to me.

Fair if you only ever want to play with a well-known and established group, but it makes things awkward if you ever want to play with anyone newer. Plus, it’s a bit of a shame for the newbies themselves.
