Book 1 in my new dark fantasy series The Arkwright Cycle is already on its way to Indiegogo backers, and the official launch drops soon.
Yet my awesome cover artist Marcelo has already delivered four initial sketches for the cover of Arkwright Cycle Book 2!

It looks like there’s some kind of ascension thing going on with the human figure in all of them. So I’d say the second as that is the one where it comes across most.
The second image has the dynamism and content to sell. The figure in four is a touch too small for impact. One and three lack that off-angle worms eye view that give the other two real punch.
Second one.
Image 2.
I concur with the others. Image 2. Somehow, though I can’t say how, it matches the other Soul Cycle / Arkwright covers to date better than the others, even as a preliminary sketch.
I agree with the consensus and pick 2.
So we went with a hybrid concept that turned out closer to #3. But I haven’t forgotten about Image 2 fans. That’s why I propose we make an alternate cover based on Image 2 our initial Lord of Fate KS stretch goal!
Sound like a plan?
How would that work? Would there be two versions of the book in hard copy, one with the patron pick cover and one with a final version of cover #2?
I’ll read it either way, because I want to know why (and how) there is a man flying out of a mountain, or perhaps being shot out of a volcano.
We make image 2 the hardcover and image 3 the paperback.
